Ordering and Processing Terms

Please Note: Because most of our fresh fish is hand cut, weights can vary per order. We state in the product’s page what the variance will be for that item.  You will be charged for the actual weight of the cut fish for your order.

All Orders Must Be Placed Online.
We do not have a brick-and-mortar shop so we are unable to accommodate walk-ins.
Our service specializes in delivering to your door, via FedEx/UPS or our trucks (depending where you live).  You can also pick-up your order at our warehouse.  See time restrictions below.

Shipping & Delivery Terms

  • Most deliveries within 25 miles will be delivered next day via our trucks.
  • Deliveries within 25 – 60 miles of our facility can be delivered between 1 – 2 days depending on specific address of delivery.
  • Kai Gourmet reserves the right to decide whether to deliver via our own trucks or using a delivery service.  Recipient will be alerted if order is via FedEx/UPS with an accompanied tracking code.

For FedEx/UPS Deliveries: Expect 2 day turn around  

  • We only ship out via FedEx/UPS Monday – Wednesday.
    • Orders placed by midnight between Sunday – Wednesday, will be packed next day and sent out for overnight delivery.
    • Orders made between Thursday – Sunday will be packed Monday and delivered Tuesday
    • We will not ship out via FedEx/UPS Thursday – Sunday.

For Pick-Up / Will-call: (M-Sa)
Order by 12 midnight – Pick-up next business day:  M-F: 9a-12p, Sat: 9a-11a

*Ring doorbell at Eastern door on Grand Ave.  Someone will answer and direct you to the side of building to safely deliver your package.

  • If you are unable to pick-up during will-call hours, your order will be held until next business day. After one day, we will dispose of the order. No refunds after orders have been packed and processed.  See “Cancellation Policy” below for more info.
  • Kindly Remember: Your order likely has perishable items. If picking up, please try to arrive the day your order is ready. We cannot be held responsible for orders that sit in our cooler. Every day the item(s) get older, the less chance you’ll be able to enjoy their fresh quality. Thank you for understanding.

How We Determine Free Shipping vs Charges
Your initial order is an estimate of your actual cost due to certain items needing to be weighed before determining the actual cost. This can affect the final cost of the order. The final weights are what will be used to determine if the order qualifies for free shipping.

  • If customer’s final weighed order falls below the minimum requirement for free shipping, we will add the remainder sum needed to hit the minimum or charge shipping price, whichever is less to the customer.
  • Your credit card will only be charged once the order is weighed and packed.
  • Exceptions can apply if it is the fault of Kai Gourmet. i.e. order can’t be filled due to unavailability of item.

Southern California residents:
Greater Los Angeles area (within 60 mile radius of El Segundo) – Free shipping for orders over $125.
$15.00 shipping fee for orders under $125.00.  Orders are shipped overnight via FedEx/UPS.

Residents Outside Greater LA/Orange County Areas:
Within California: Orders over $250 – free shipping.
Outside California, within Continental U.S.A: Orders over $350 – free shipping.

For orders that fall under the free shipping rates, overnight shipping rates do vary and are determined by the delivery address.

Friends and Family Membership rates:

Southern California residents:   $10 shipping for orders under the $125 threshold.  Orders are shipped overnight.

Residents Outside LA/Orange County Areas:  Overnight shipping rates are discounted with the Friends & Family membership. Discounted shipping will vary, determined upon address of delivery destination.

Cancellation Policy

Due to the quick turnaround of orders, cancellation fees do apply.

– If order has not been processed, a full refund will be given.
– If order has been processed but not packed, a $50 fee will be deducted from the refund.
– No refunds for orders that have been packed and processed.
