Also known as Japanese scallops, Hokkaido scallops are famous for their naturally sweet flavor. Primarily enjoyed raw as sashimi or sushi, they are also wonderful when pan seared.
These scallops are native to the Pacific Ocean surrounding Japan, and farmed in the areas around Hokkaido and Aomori. Most people find this Pacific species to be more tender, sweeter and creamier than the Atlantic Sea scallop, although both are delicious in their own right!
Harvested scallops are processed and frozen without any additives and average 41-50 scallops per box. Each box is 2.2lb (1kg)
