Ordering and Processing Terms

Please Note: Because most of our fresh fish is hand cut, weights can vary per order. We make every effort to keep the weight variance within the weight shown on the product page.

All Orders Must Be Placed Online.
We do not have a brick-and-mortar shop so we are unable to accommodate walk-ins for shopping.  We do allow for pick-ups at our warehouse once order is placed on the website, the day before.  No same day order then pick-up.
Our service specializes in delivering to your door with our trucks (depending where you live locally) or via FedEx/UPS. You can also pick-up your order at our warehouse.  See time restrictions below.

Shipping & Delivery Terms

  • Most deliveries within 25 miles will be delivered next day via our trucks.
  • Deliveries within 25 – 60 miles of our facility can be delivered between 1 – 2 days depending on specific address of delivery.
  • Kai Gourmet reserves the right to decide whether to deliver via our own trucks or using a delivery service.  Recipient will be alerted if order is via FedEx/UPS with an accompanied tracking code.

For FedEx/UPS Deliveries: Expect 2 day turn around  

  • We only ship out Monday – Thursday for next day delivery with courier services such as FedEx / UPS.
    • Orders placed by midnight any day from Sunday to Wednesday, will be packed the next day and sent out for overnight delivery.
    • Orders made between Thursday – Sunday will be packed Monday and delivered Tuesday
    • We do not ship out via FedEx/UPS Friday – Sunday.

For Pick-Up / Will-call: (M-Sa)
Order by 12 midnight – Pick-up next business day:  M-F: 9a-12p, Sat: 9a-11a.  Closed Sundays.

*Ring doorbell at Eastern door on Grand Ave.  Someone will answer and direct you to the side of building to safely deliver your package.

  • If you are unable to pick-up during will-call hours, your order will be held until next business day. After one day, we will dispose of the order unless we hear from customer. No refunds after orders have been packed and processed.  See “Cancellation Policy” below for more info.
  • Kindly Remember: Your order likely has perishable items. If picking up, please try to arrive the day your order is ready. We cannot be held responsible for orders that sit in our cooler. Thank you for understanding.

How We Determine Free Shipping vs Charges

  • If customer’s final order (after discounts are applied) falls below the minimum requirement for free shipping, we will charge the fixed shipping rate depending on what zone the order is being delivered to.
  • Your credit card is charged once the order is packed.
  • Exceptions can apply if it is the fault of Kai Gourmet. i.e. order can’t be filled due to unavailability of item. In this case, we'll honor the original order amount for determining shipping costs.

Southern California residents:
Greater Los Angeles area (within 60 mile radius of El Segundo) – Free shipping for orders over $135.
$20.00 shipping fee for orders under $135.00.  Depending on address of order and/or if our trucks are not delivering that day to the area, we will ship overnight via FedEx / UPS.

 

Friends and Family Membership rates:

 The same shipping rates apply for all customers, whether F&F member or regular customer.
