Product Details

These prized Tiger prawns are Australia’s largest wild prawns, sustainably harvested from the Northern Prawn Fishery (NPF). Located off Australia’s remote northern coast, the NPF is Australia’s largest prawn fishery and the world’s first tropical prawn fishery to earn MSC certification for sustainability. Its pristine waters are far removed from industrial and agricultural activity, ensuring exceptional quality and purity.

Naturally striking, the prawns’ bold stripes turn pearly white with soft blush-pink hues when cooked. Highly sought after across Australia, they deliver sweet, succulent meat with a rich, savory depth often compared to lobster—firm, juicy, and deeply satisfying.

This is a 6.6 lb box, which is ideal for entertaining, larger gatherings or simply keeping your freezer stocked with premium seafood. The prawns are raw/uncooked with shell, head and tail on, and flash frozen individually so that you can easily defrost as many as you need.

Keep frozen until ready to use, then thaw gently in the refrigerator a few hours before serving or in bowl cold water. As with all wild prawns, natural black spotting may appear after thawing; this is completely harmless and does not affect flavor or quality. If you plan to defrost and hold a couple days, it is advised to remove the heads as soon as possible as histamines start to release into the body which can affect the sweet flavor of the meat.
